Stormy Miss adds to Highgrove's Broodmare Band

The recent purchase of More Than Ready stakes winning three year old filly Stormy Miss will be another black type broodmare to join Highgrove’s 2006 mare band. The $250,000 purchase by Highgrove will spend the next few months in Sydney with leading trainer John Hawkes before making her way to the stud to start her new career as a broodmare.

Highgrove’s decision to purchase Stormy Miss and return her to work was vindicated by her first up win at Canterbury under new trainer John Hawkes. Starting as short priced favourite with Darren Beadman onboard she was held up in the straight before getting clear and sprinting away for a decisive win. She has now returned to the farm where she will be covered by first season sire Snitzel.
