Fravashi shines

Earlier in the day and Fravashi (pictured) made it two wins from as many starts with an impressive win in the 2yo heat. A strapping son of Falbrav (Ire), Fravashi has won well on debut at Canterbury and confirmed the impression he made there with a win that that has trainer Peter Snowden sending Fravashi to Brisbane for the $250,000 QTC Sires’ Produce Stakes (Gr 2) over 1400m at Eagle Farm on May 31st.

“I think at this point in time he’ll only go to the Sires, he has still got a lot to learn so there is plenty of natural improvement. He did a good job today and he’s got good talent,” Snowden said.

“He still does a few things wrong but he could turn into a real nice horse. When he switched on he had them covered quickly and easily,” said Quinn.

Bred by Ron Gilbert at his Highgrove Stud on Queensland’s Darling Downs, Fravashi cost Woodland Stud $550,000 at the 2007 Easter yearling sale and his Redoute’s Choice half-brother sold this year for $1.1 million to the bid of Darley.
