Fastnet Rock Wanted
By Tara Madgwick for Breednet.com.au - 26 October 2008
There were three two year-old barrier trials conducted at Rosehill on Tuesday morning 14th October with the John Hawkes trained Fastnet Rock colt Wanted impressing trial watchers in taking his 900 metre heat in the fastest time of the morning for the babies.
An $800,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Highgrove Stud, Wanted looked sharp when beginning fast to sit outside the leader and was only given a little rein in the straight to win without being fully tested by a long neck from the Darby Racing entry Gladiator in 54.36 seconds.
Raced by Hayson Bloodstock and partners, Wanted is the second foal of stakes-winning Snippets mare Fragmentation and was the equal highest priced yearling by champion sprinter Fastnet Rock sold in 2008.
